Overview

With operations in more than 5 countries, the company was not leveraging its size to achieve process efficiencies or economies of scale. In essence, it was operating as 5 different companies. To address these operational inefficiencies and to build an operating infrastructure that would support very aggressive growth objectives, the CIO decided that the company needed to implement a new business and technology infrastructure.

Challenge

As company grows, the number of process transactions also increases proportionately. Maintaining higher volumes of data on papers or on computer drives could be an arduous task. An efficient management system always banks on structuring and archiving easily accessible historical data. It could be a difficult task to extract and also tricky to manage and present the data on-demand. With ERP, you don’t need to worry about this as a comprehensive ERP system comes with in-built features to manage data. Errors which rise during manual handling of data will result in faulty scheduling and affect the productivity within the organisation, sometimes impacting multiple departments. Human interference involved during collection of data or reconciling can result in mistakes.

Not knowing which ERP system to choose, the CIO turned to the Panorama team to facilitate a technology-independent evaluation and selection of ERP software and implementation vendors. UTriva Technologies managed a six-month evaluation and selection process to identify the ERP software that would best enable its future business requirements and corporate growth objectives.

Solution

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems if successfully implemented bring about competitive advantages. On the other hand, project failure could, in an extreme case, cause an organisation to go out of business. Mapped against existing literature on ERP critical success factors, this paper examines environmental factors that impacted on the adoption of ERP.

“I had the greatest degree of confidence in the Digital Marketing Institute, both in terms of quality of content and their global certification standard, which we could apply across all of our markets,” stated CEO

Results

UTriva delivered significant and measurable results to the client to enable a high return on investment.

We identified ERP software capable of delivering 96% of the functionality required by client, higher than any other evaluated vendor.

Secured fixed-costs for client’s software licenses and implementation services at 40-percent less cost than benchmark implementation costs for companies of similar size and geographic reach.

Identified more than $7 million in annual cost savings at full system implementation, resulting in a 20-percent internal rate of return on investment.

“I found the relationship to be a really positive one. One that was constructive. It certainly felt to me that what I was saying about Our company needs and requirements in this space was being listened to,” concluded CEO.
